Please note we have an age policy of 7 and older. If you have a guest under 7 years old, you will need to reserve the whole room (8 individual spots!).

Why is this policy in place?

This policy exists to best manage the group dynamic in each session. Most guests visit the cafe expecting a calm and relaxing hour. Picture sipping wine, quietly catching up with a friend, or decompressing alone after a long day. We want to respect this type of experience.

Most cat cafes have a hard and fast minimum age requirement. Our solution is to allow younger kids to come if the entire room is rented for their visit. This equals 8 total spots. So when booking for kids under 7, PLEASE be sure the total spots you select equals 8. Children under 7 will not be allowed to enter and your reservation fee will be forfeited if this policy is not followed. Thanks for understanding!

For the health of our cats, we do not allow parties or gatherings for guests under 13.

Why is this policy in place?

Simply for the health of our cats. Although we used to offer kids birthday parties, we discovered these gatherings significantly stressed the cats.

It's important to remember that by the time a cat arrives at the cafe, they have already been through a lot. Being surrendered, shelter life, spay/neuter surgeries and vetting, foster care and transitioning to the cafe is a lot for a kitty's body.

Cats in general have sensitive immune systems and when they are stressed they can easily become sick. When cats get sick they are sent back to foster care, delaying their journey to a forever home and requiring additional resources from the rescue.

Every decision we make aims to mitigate cat stress as much as possible. So while we know that kids are generally wonderful with cats, when kids get together they get excited and energetic- which is awesome! Just not for sensitive kitties. Therefore we prefer not to have more than 3 kids under 13 in each hour. Thanks for understanding!

Guidelines for a PAWsitive experience

For the health of the cats, please wash hands and/or use sanitizer before entering the Cat Lounge. We also ask that you remove shoes. We offer clean socks to borrow or encourage you to bring your own. Our cats are neat freaks.

  • Please do not wake a sleeping cat. They play hard and need to sleep hard, and we respect that.

  • Please do not pick up the cats. It's much more rewarding when they come to you. If you are interested in getting to know a particular cat better, please ask the Cat Lounge Concierge for assistance.

  • We also ask that you not play with toys on our stairs or our lookout ledge area. The safety of everyone is our number one priority!

  • The cats will try to convince you that they are allowed to enjoy human treats. They are not. Don't be persuaded by purrs and slow blinks.

  • Please do not let the cats out of the Cat Lounge. They do not need to explore Franklin Street.

  • Please remember this is the cats’ home and we will always have new arrivals who are still adjusting. We want to keep it a low stress environment so please keep voices low and movements calm. Leave the zoomies to the cats.

  • Have fun! Enjoy the cats and their antics, or their snuggles. And feel great knowing you are making a difference in their lives.
